Third quarter

– End of the third: The Cowboys are hoping to turn their fortunes around as the third quarter ends. Dallas faces a key fourth-and-3 going into the fourth.

Can Dallas make its way into the end zone?

– 2:31 left in the third: More of the same story for the Cowboys’ defense. Jacoby Brissett and the Cardinals are making their way downfield smoothly. This drive ended in a field goal after an intended pass to Trey McBride fell incomplete in the end zone. Officials originally threw a flag on the play, but they deemed there was no penalty to be called.

Cowboys fans booed their team’s defense on various occasions. Arizona extended its lead with a 34-yard field goal from Chad Ryland. Cardinals 27, Cowboys 10

– 7:15 left in the third: Another familiar trend stuck out on Dallas’ latest drive. The Cowboys were able to pick up yardage, but things stalled out once they got into the red zone. A 12-play, 64-yard drive ended with a 26-yard field goal from Brandon Aubrey.

Cowboys trail by 14. Cardinals 24, Cowboys 10

– 12:48 left in the third: New quarter, same issues for the Cowboys’ defense. Jacoby Brissett and the Cardinals opened the half with a 50-yard pass to Michael Wilson.

Arizona needed just three plays to pick up 74 yards, closing out its latest scoring drive with a 12-yard touchdown connection between Brissett and tight end Trey McBride. Cardinals 24, Cowboys 7

Second quarter

– End of the second quarter: Brandon Aubrey attempted a 68-yard field goal as the first half came to a close. It would have tied the new NFL record had it gone in.

Aubrey’s kick ended up wide left. Cowboys go into the locker room facing a 10-point deficit.

– 0:49 left in the second: The Cowboys weren’t able to generate much momentum after their special-teams touchdown. Jacoby Brissett and the Cardinals drove downfield again as the second quarter wound down, adding to their lead with a touchdown on a 1-yard quarterback sneak.

Arizona is once again up by 10. Cardinals 17, Cowboys 7

– 3:58 left in the second: Dallas is on the board, thanks to a big-time special teams play. After the Cowboys’ defense forced a three-and-out, Sam Williams came up with a pivotal punt block.

Marshawn Kneeland chased down the loose ball and recovered it in the end zone for a Cowboys touchdown. Cardinals 10, Cowboys 7

– 6:30 left in the second: It finally looked like Dallas could put some points on the board. Then a turnover slowed things down.

Dak Prescott connected with Jake Ferguson for a 12-yard connection. As Ferguson looked to pick up more yardage after his catch, he had the ball knocked out of his hands by a Cardinals defender. Cardinals safety Budda Baker recovered the fumble and Arizona takes over on its own 24.

– 12:17 left in the second: Dallas is down by double digits. The Cardinals quickly picked up 47 yards on their second drive, using momentum from a long third-down connection between Jacoby Brissett and Marvin Harrison Jr.

Arizona’s scoring drive ended with a 4-yard touchdown pass from Brissett to Harrison. Cardinals 10, Cowboys 0

First quarter

– End of the first: Dallas’ defense is still on the field as the first quarter comes to an end. Jacoby Brissett gave Arizona a new set of downs with a 20-yard completion to Marvin Harrison on a third-and-long.

– 3:42 left in the first: Arizona controlled the clock and moved the ball efficiently on its first drive. The Cardinals picked up 60 yards on 15 plays and got on the scoreboard first.

Chad Ryland connected on a 48-yard field goal to give the Cardinals an early lead. Cardinals 3, Cowboys 0

– 10:32 left in the first: Dallas’ first offensive drive ends with a thud. The Cowboys moved the ball swiftly to start the game, seeing Javonte Williams power through Arizona’s defense for 26 yards.

With the Cardinals’ defense pushed against its own end zone, the Cowboys had four opportunities to put points on the board. Dallas’ offense went for it on fourth down but turned it over on downs when Dak Prescott was sacked for a 7-yard loss.

– Arizona wins the opening toss and has elected to defer. The Cowboys’ offense will take the field to start the game.
