NFL trade rumors are heating up as the New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders held “exploratory talks” about a potential deal for offensive lineman Evan Neal, reports NFL insider Josina Anderson.
The discussions, which occurred about two weeks ago, did not progress to immediate action but highlighted growing interest in the former first-round pick
Selected seventh overall in 2022 out of Alabama, Neal has struggled to live up to expectations, plagued by injuries and inconsistent play over three seasons. Entering 2025 healthy, he transitioned to guard but remained a healthy scratch for the first eight games, being activated only in Week 9 due to injuries along the line.
Now in the final year of his rookie deal with a modest $550,000 salary, Neal’s trade value is limited as a midseason rental, yet his size and potential could bolster the Raiders’ run game.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll has praised Neal’s work ethic, but he remains unused and labeled a Joe Schoen bust.
Even in the absence of veteran Jermaine Eluemunor (pec), the Giants have opted to go with rookie Marcus Mbow over Neal at right tackle.
