The New York Giants dropped their third consecutive game on Sunday, falling to the San Francisco 49ers, 34-24, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. However, it felt like a home game for the 49ers, whose fans overran the Meadowlands and forced the Giants‘ offense into a silent count.

The loss marks the Giants’ third straight season starting 2-7 under head coach Brian Daboll, and it was the third straight game in which Shane Bowen’s defense surrendered 30-plus points. It was also the first time this season that frustrated fans blew protest banners over the stadium prior to kickoff.

Do things get easier from here? No. The Giants will take on the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, and New England Patriots over the next four weeks.
