As we near the 2025 season’s midpoint and the trade deadline on Tuesday afternoon, Week 9 provided plenty to talk about — there were some wild wins and upsets, with the Chicago Bears avoiding disaster against the Cincinnati Bengals, much to the chagrin of the Cincinnati offense.

Defenses showed out on Sunday, including the Pittsburgh Steelers forcing six turnovers out of the red-hot Indianapolis Colts, while the Buffalo Bills’ high-octane offense rolled to a win over the Kansas City Chiefs. There was a bit of history, as Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Little set the record for the longest field goal in NFL regular-season history.

There were also some brutal injuries. Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels went down with a gruesome left elbow injury after he landed awkwardly late in their blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night. Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud left Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos early with a concussion, with head coach DeMeco Ryans calling the hit an uncalled “unnecessary roughness” penalty.

Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft was carted off on Sunday with a knee injury, which testing revealed to be a torn ACL, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday. Additionally, Los Angeles Chargers left tackle Joe Alt was carted off with an ankle injury — the same ankle that kept him out for three games earlier this season — in a huge blow to the Chargers’ offensive line.

And as the trade deadline approaches on Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET, brush up on the buyers and sellers, some deals we’d like to see, trade deadline history and more.

The Jacksonville Jaguars like what they saw from wideout Jakobi Meyers on Sunday. Just days after Meyers and the Raiders played against the Jaguars, the team acquired Meyers in a trade.

Meyers was traded to Jacksonville on Tuesday in exchange for a fourth and sixth-round pick, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Meyers, 28, has been a solid contributor over the past four seasons, gaining at least 800 receiving yards every single year. The veteran was unhappy with the Raiders and asked for a trade prior to the start of the 2025 NFL season.

Meyers got his wish Tuesday and will now look for another 800-yard season with the Jaguars. He’s set to be a free agent at the end of the season.

With wideout Kayshon Boutte battling a hamstring injury, the New England Patriots are adding another player at the position. Brenden Rice, the son of Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice, reportedly signed with the organization Tuesday, per reports.

Brenden has minimal NFL experience, playing in three games with the Los Angeles Chargers last season.

The Chargers selected Brenden in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft. While he was able to get some playing time with the organization last season, the team waived Brenden during training camp.

The former USC wideout remained unsigned until Tuesday, when the Patriots reportedly came calling.

Baltimore is sending Tennessee a 2026 conditional fifth-round draft pick in return.

Jones, 28, was a third-round draft pick by the Broncos in 2019. He spent four seasons in Denver before moving on to the Seahawks in free agency. After two years in Seattle, he was released and inked a one-year deal with the Titans last March.

In 99 career games, Jones has 35 career sacks, 45 tackles for loss and seven pass deflections.

Jerry Jones made right on his claim that the Dallas Cowboys had a trade in the works. The team acquired linebacker Logan Wilson on Tuesday, hours after Jones said it would make a move before the trade deadline.

Wilson, 29, reportedly requested a trade from the Bengals after seeing his playing time decrease in recent weeks.

The veteran has been an effective player in the past, averaging 115.5 tackles per season over the last four years. He’s also picked off nine passes over that period.

Arizona Cardinals rookie Walter Nolen has been activated from the PUP list and cleared to make his NFL debut Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys.

The defensive tackle suffered a calf injury in training camp and was not able to play in Arizona’s first seven games. The Cardinals selected Nolen with the 16th pick of April’s draft out of Mississippi to anchor their interior line.

A capable pass rusher who can create pressure up the middle, Nolen recorded 6.5 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, 3 passes defended and 2 forced fumbles in 13 games for Mississippi last season.

The Washington Commanders are already looking at multiple missed games from Jayden Daniels and Luke McCaffrey after their Week 9 injuries. Turns out, another player on the team is also looking at missed time coming out of the contest.

It’s feared cornerback Marshon Lattimore tore his ACL during the contest.

If that injury is confirmed, Lattimore will miss the entire season in recovery. The 29-year-old started all nine games for the Commanders this season. He has 27 tackles and one interception on the year.

The Washington Commanders are dealing with multiple injuries following the team’s Week 9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. In addition to potentially losing quarterback Jayden Daniels for multiple weeks, the team will also be without wideout and return man Luke McCaffrey for several games.

McCaffrey sustained a broken collarbone and will be placed on Injured Reserve, according to NFL Network.

While McCaffrey only has to miss four games on IR, it’s likely he misses the rest of the season due to the injury. Despite limited playing time, the 24-year-old has scored three touchdowns this season.
