The Pittsburgh Steelers failed to pull off a move at the NFL trade deadline — but the same can’t be said for their Week 10 opponents, the Los Angeles Chargers, who addressed a massive need on their offensive line.
Minutes before the NFL trade deadline cutoff at 4:00 p.m. EST, the Chargers acquired OL Trevor Penning from the New Orleans Saints in exchange for a 2027 sixth-round pick — filling the vacant offensive tackle position in Los Angeles after Joe Alt’s season-ending ankle injury.
Before the trade, Pittsburgh’s pass rush — which shredded the Indianapolis Colts‘ offensive line like tissue paper — was expected to have a highly productive day against the Chargers this Sunday, but Penning’s arrival in Los Angeles does slightly complicate the Steelers‘ defensive game plan.
Fans can tune into the Week 10 action between the Steelers and Chargers on Sunday Night Football on November 9 at 8:20 p.m. EST, a matchup with potential playoff implications as we enter the latter half of the season.
