Here is the latest injury update on Jaguars’ rookie Travis Hunter.
We have another injury update on Jacksonville Jaguars’ rookie Travis Hunter.
Following the news that the Jaguars were trading for Raiders‘ wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, Ian Rapoport reported that Hunter is “not expected to be out long-term.”
With Hunter on injured reserve, he does have to miss a minimum of three more games before being eligible to return.
Rapoport added that once Hunter returns, he’ll continue to contribute to the Jaguars’ passing game.
Although we still do not have an exact timeline for Hunter’s potential return to action, Rapoport’s report does provide some added clarity.
Adam Schefter recently told Pat McAfee that Hunter was going to be out “a while” — although he did not have a specific timeline.
Hunter sustained a non-contact knee injury in practice last Thursday. Initial reporting from ESPN stated that Hunter’s ACL was intact but that additional testing at that time was required to determine the extent of the injury.
Hunter took on a much more significant role on offense in the Jaguars’ Week 7 game against LA. He would play 67 of the team’s 77 offensive snaps and led the Jaguars in targets, receptions, and receiving yards.
An emphasis for the Jaguars during the bye week, as Liam Coen described, was on finding ways to get their playmakers the ball in space. Presumably, Hunter was going to continue to be a big part of this equation with his ability to make defenders miss and pick up YAC.
