Cardinals keep playoff hopes alive; QB controversy at forefront

Jacoby Brissett stunned the Cowboys on Monday Night Football, but coach Jonathon Gannon remains insistent that Kyler Murray is the starting QB.

Is Kyler Murray’s time with the Arizona Cardinals nearing an end?

Social media is abuzz with speculation about the future of the Cardinals’ QB after Arizona coach Jonathan Gannon announced that Jacoby Brissett would start for the team against the Seattle Seahawks on Nov. 9.

Gannon insisted that Murray is not starting because of health concerns, but many on X expressed that this could be the beginning of the end for the former No. 1 overall pick’s time in Arizona, with speculation about the team potentially trading Murray in the offseason a big part of the discussion.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that “Murray had more time to heal” his foot injury with the announcement that Brissett would start in NFL Week 10.

Murray hasn’t played since the Cardinals’ loss to the Tennessee Titans on Oct. 5.

NFL Week 10 picks: Raiders at Broncos | Falcons vs Colts | Saints at Panthers | Giants at Bears | Jaguars at Texans | Bills at Dolphins | Ravens at Vikings | Browns at Jets | Patriots at Buccaneers | Cardinals at Seahawks | Rams at 49ers | Lions at Commanders | Steelers at Chargers | Eagles at Packers | Score predictions

Social media reacts to Kyler Murray’s future with Arizona:

The Cardinals should IR Kyler Murray for the remainder of the season and then work to find a trade partner come 2026. https://t.co/4MhdlF1RlX

The Oakland, soon to be Las Vegas, Athletics have the MLB right to Kyler Murray.

The Cardinals should trade Kyler to the Raiders. He can QB the Raiders until the A’d go live in Vegas. He can then retire from football and be the big name superstar for the baseball franchise pic.twitter.com/ANTkpvknBD

I’m in the boat where I want him to be good and I think a healthy Kyler Murray should be a starter in the NFL. However, it is not working in Arizona and I think that says more about the Cardinals management and ownership than it does Kyler.

Do believe that the Cards organization got together with Kyler’s camp and decided that leveraging this injury to keep him out as long as possible was in the best interest of both sides.

Kyler and his camp safe face, while his value is not further deteriorated with an official…

This screams kylers camp and the team working together to put together a situation that’s best for both sides.

Want to hold as much value for Kyler instead of exposing him or outright benching him. https://t.co/RAFukNGi7H

A lot of up’s and down during the Kyler Murray era in Arizona

Will never forget all the amazing moments Kyler Murray brought to this team

I hope to see Kyler flourish with another team
