NFL schedule leaks and rumormongering continue into midday, and one of the New Orleans Saints‘ preseason matchups has been revealed. While several regular season games have been informally announced, the preseason is the topic of focus in this report, specifically the last one. As was shared by Nick Underhill for NewOrleans.Football, the Saints will be taking on their former head coach Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos in preseason Week 3 at home.

This matchup was an ugly one as it most recently happened in Oct. 2024, when the Saints lost 33-10 on Thursday Night Football in front of a national audience. Even worse, their only touchdown of the night was scored in garbage time, as the game was out of hand pretty much during the entirety of the showdown.

While the preseason doesn’t count for much in terms of value for the teams record-wise, it should be a good opportunity for the Saints to clear up their roster and make some final decisions ahead of their Week 1 bout with the Arizona Cardinals at home, which means they also won’t have to travel between that span either.
