The Texas Longhorns have a new hole to fill in the 2026 class, less than a month from National Signing Day, as defensive lineman Dylan Berrmon announced that he was reopening his commitment.
Ranked No. 207 according to the 247Sports composite, Berymon joined the class following an official visit in June. The highly coveted lineman from Louisiana took visits to Texas Tech, Mississippi State, Purdue, Houston, and USC as a part of his summer recruitment, committing to Texas but still choosing to take visits following the decision. Now, with a short time left before National Signing Day, both he and the Longhorns have to find their next moves.
The 2026 signing class is heavily weighted to the trenches, even with Berymon’s departure, with seven of the 21 commitments slated to play on the offensive and defensive lines. His defection still leaves Texas with plenty of talent on the defensive line, with Vodney Cleveland, James Johnson, and Corey Wells still in the fold for Texas.
Recruits and schools are in the home stretch for the 2026 class, with the vast majority of prospects slated to sign when the Early Signing Period opens on December 3rd. The Longhorns will likely look to replace Berymon in the class with one of the elite recruits whose schools fired their head coaches in the last few weeks. A few LSU commits could be on the radar for Texas, including Richard Anderson, who recently took an unofficial visit to the Forty Acres for the Vanderbilt game.
