The New England Patriots (7-2) have now won six straight games while the Buffalo Bills (6-2) are keeping pace. The Miami Dolphins (2-7) and New York Jets (1-7) both became sellers before the trade deadline, so they’ve set their sights on 2026 at this point. Let’s dig into the Week 10 Power Rankings to see how the AFC East is currently set up.

The Jets were the biggest sellers at the trade deadline as they dealt both Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams. At 1-7, they’re obviously playing for next year when they’ll have three first-round picks after all their wheeling and dealing. There’s a very good chance that the Jets don’t win another game this season, as they’ve now dealt two of their best three players.

The Dolphins had righted the ship before Thursday Night Football, but a 28-6 drubbing at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens turned their fortunes around quickly. They pivoted to trading Jaelen Phillips after the loss, and are also reportedly going to keep head coach Mike McDaniel for the rest of the season. Needless to say, the Dolphins 2025 season is circling the drain right now.

The Bills have come out of their bye on fire as they’ve dismantled the Carolina Panthers and squeaked by the Kansas City Chiefs. They still have some work to do if they want to take over the top spot from the Patriots, but the Bills look much-improved after their bye week and have put their two-game losing streak behind them.

The Patriots had a really soft midseason schedule, but they came out of it unscathed and have now won six in a row. Drake Maye looks like an MVP candidate, and the defense has looked much-improved after a slow start. The Patriots will still have to prove they’re not pretenders, but they’ve held serve in that regard thus far.

What’s Next?

The Patriots will face their toughest test of the season as they travel to Tampa, while the Bills will play the Dolphins in Miami. Meanwhile, the Jets will have one of their best chances at a victory as they visit the Browns. We’ll revisit after this week, but there’s a decent chance we see a shakeup at the top of the AFC East Power Rankings next week.
