The Chicago Bears are back home at Soldier Field in Week 10, as they take on the New York Giants, a team that has suffered several big time losses. Besides 2-7 record on the field, the Giants have lost two of their best young offensive playmakers in wide receiver Malik Nabers and running back Cam Skattebo, who both suffered season-ending injuries.
Although the Giants are in the midst of a rebuilding phase behind rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, they still have several talented players on the roster, including the aforementioned ones who are out for the year. New York’s defense is not great, but they still hold some of the finest young talent on both sides of the ball, including this year’s third overall pick, Abdul Carter at edge rusher.
For this week’s “Gimme Him,” we’re wasting no time in bringing Carter to Chicago, a player who would immediately upgrade the pass and get unleashed under Dennis Allen’s defense.
With 20 total tackles and one sack to his credit through the first nine games of his career, Carter has only seen limited usage by the Giants early on. Carter has played more than half of his defensive snaps in pass rushing situations, while still showing room for development in his game, but would be more than a welcomed addition to the Chicago defense.
The Giants already have veteran Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux at edge rusher, so bringing in Carter, as a rookie, to work with Allen, would be a great match for the two of them. Montez Sweat and Gervon Dexter have been leading the team in sacks for most of the season, and with Dayo Odeyingbo out for the year, Abdul Carter would bring plenty of excitement and production to the pass rushing unit.
