Could the Carolina Panthers be primed for a blockbuster deal next season?

With this year’s trade deadline now behind us, Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton has lined up a handful of stars who might be on the move in 2026. He starts by listing Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, and names the Panthers as the “ideal landing spot” for the former No. 1 overall pick.

Moton writes:

If the Cardinals trade Murray, the two-time Pro Bowler should fetch multiple first-rounders because of his accolades at the most valuable position in the sport.

Teams like the New Orleans Saints, New York Jets and Cleveland Browns may opt to draft a quarterback. These clubs have multiple 2026 first-rounders or will likely hold top picks in the upcoming draft.

Murray, whose contract carries another year of guaranteed money, would be an ideal fit for a squad that needs a quarterback, but isn’t in a position to draft a top prospect.

Carolina currently has a former No. 1 overall pick of their own under center in Bryce Young, who has led the team to a 5-3 mark in his eight starts in 2025. Young will be entering the fourth and final year of his rookie contract in 2026, with a decision on his fifth-year option coming up in the spring.

Moton then highlights Philadelphia Eagles receiver A.J. Brown, and labels the Panthers as a “potential suitor.” He notes:

Looking ahead, the Eagles could trade Brown for a first-round pick and an additional selection, then draft his replacement, as the Tennessee Titans did when they traded him to Philadelphia in 2022.

Brown will turn 29 in June, which is still the back-end prime of his career. Philadelphia should be able to command at least a first-rounder for him, assuming he’s healthy for the 2026 term.

Like with Young at the quarterback position, the organization has invested quite a bit into their wideouts. General manager Dan Morgan, in fact, has spent the first two first-round picks of his run towards the spot—with one on Xavier Legette in 2024 and the other on Tetairoa McMillan in 2025.

So while it may be intriguing to link the Panthers to both Murray and Brown, they seem much likelier to stay the course—much like they did at the deadline this past Tuesday.
