An AFC West rivalry resumes on Thursday Night Football to kick off Week 10 as the 2-6 Las Vegas Raiders travel to Mile High to face the 7-2 Denver Broncos. In this first matchup of the 2025 season, the Raiders aim to revive their season after losing six of their last seven games. Denver seeks to extend their winning streak by securing a seventh consecutive win.

Although the Raiders are struggling in Pete Carroll’s first year, Las Vegas has held up well against this matchup recently, except for being swept by Denver last season. Since 2020, the Raiders are 8-2 against the Broncos and need a win to turn their season around.

Since starting 1-2, the Broncos have become one of the hottest teams in the NFL and share the best record in the league with the New England Patriots. Quarterback Bo Nix is thriving in Sean Payton’s offense, with 1,976 passing yards, 17 touchdown passes and 6 interceptions, through nine games. Nix already has four fourth-quarter comebacks and four game-winning drives, leading the league in those categories. The defense has been outstanding, ranking in the top three in total yards.

The punt ends up at the one-yard line, leaving the Broncos in a very difficult spot as they eventually go three-and-out.

That’s Cole’s second punt just outside the end line this game — his first punt of the game was downed at the Broncos’ 2.

Raiders are also forced to punt on fourth-and-12 after a pass interference foul calls back what would’ve been a Las Vegas touchdown. In other circumstances, the Raiders might’ve gone for the field goal, but the wind is a little too unpredictable in Denver tonight.

That’s a 31-yard gain from Bowers, as the second-year tight end catches a pass from Geno Smith on third-and-9 and sprints to get the Raiders to Denver’s 40.

The Broncos end up (sort of) going for it on fourth-and-3 after a holding call forced Denver to first-and-20, but their plan to pull the Raiders defense offsides doesn’t succeed. They’re forced to punt after a strange three-and-out situation — with the crowd in Denver already starting to boo their home team.

That’s a big sack on Geno Smith — the second he’s taken already this game. Nik Bonitto gets there to force a six-yard loss on the Raiders on third down, and Las Vegas is going to have to punt.

The play marks Bonitto’s ninth sack this season.

Maxx Crosby stuffs the third-down run and the Raiders are getting the ball right back. They take over at the 44-yard line after an iffy punt.

The wind is blowing hard enough here the ball just rolled a bit at the line of scrimmage.
