The Pittsburgh Steelers have just made an interesting roster decision — parting ways with a former 2022-third round draft pick in the wake of signing DT Brodric Martin off the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad.
On Thursday, the Steelers announced that they waived DL DeMarvin Leal — who’s appeared in just three games for Pittsburgh this season, including last Sunday’s win over the Indianapolis Colts.
Selected with the 84th overall pick in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Leal never quite lived up to expectations during his first four seasons with Pittsburgh, producing just one sack in 31 games — six of those coming as starts.
With Pittsburgh’s decision to sign Martin and waive Leal, the Steelers defensive line is beginning to take shape as the latter half of the season rapidly approaches — with the latest challenge coming this Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers on Week 10.
