When former WWE tag team champion Grayson Waller made a flippant dig at pop star Taylor Swift on the now-defunct web series “The Bump” back in 2023, he likely never thought he would be confronted about it by Swift’s now fiancée, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

But according to the 35-year-old Aussie, that exact scenario nearly happened at a party in Nashville that Waller and a few of his WWE cohorts as part of Tight End University, the annual summit hosted by Kelce, San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle, and retired Pro Bowl TE Greg Olsen.

“If Travis Kelce is happy settling for a 6, good for him,” Waller said of Kelce’s relationship with the “Blank Space” singer during the show.

Though he caught some flack on social media, Waller brushed the incident off until he attended the TEU party, which Kelce and Swift were also at. When he saw the 10-time Pro Bowl pass-catcher, Waller admitted that he was fully prepared to physically fight Kelce over what he said.

“They did a party one night; me, Bayley and Sheamus all went to Nashville and we went to the party,” Waller said during a recent episode of “Insight with Chris Van Vliet.” “And then [Swift] and Travis Kelce were both there. In the back of my mind, she doesn’t know who I am.

“But imagine if at some stage, they’re scrolling through their phone and they’ve seen this idiot Australian has said a really rude thing. I’m a bit like, ‘Man, I’m going to have to fight Travis Kelce.’”

If the two did come to blows, the size advantage clearly rests with Kelce, who’s 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds while Waller is 6-foot-3 and 202 pounds. However, the latter has the edge in fighting experience given his time as a Golden Gloves boxer in Australia.

“I’ve said multiple times I’ll fight Travis Kelce,” Waller joked. “And then I saw how big tight ends are and how big he was. Man, I’m going to win but it’s going to be a scrap.”

Judging from Waller’s interview, it seems unlikely Kelce even heard what the 35-year-old professional wrestler said, though it appears the beef between the two has now been squashed.

“I was like, ‘Here we go’ but he was super nice,” Waller added. “… He didn’t have to come over and chat with us. Super chill. Chatted with us for a bit. I didn’t get to meet Taylor officially. She did walk past me at some stage and I had to move and go, ‘Oh sorry,’ and she said, ‘Thank you,’ so I think that’s the reconciliation.”
