The NFL trade deadline has come and gone, and some of the moves that were made changed the complexion of the first round and beyond. While the Tennessee Titans mostly stood pat, they did add some players in later rounds who could pay dividends.Â
The 1-8 Titans enter their bye week with a firm grasp on the second pick in the draft, and are currently battling the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints for draft position. And while their season has been disappointing to this point, their 2025 rookie class has been a highlight and gives fans some hope that general manager Mike Borgonzi has what it takes to rebuild the struggling franchise.Â
With the trade deadline in the rearview, Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus (PFF) surveyed the NFL landscape and came up with his post-deadline mock draft, and he sees the Titans tackling one of their biggest weaknesses early on.Â
2. TENNESSEE TITANS: EDGE RUEBEN BAIN JR., MIAMI (FL)
Bain has cooled off a bit after a red-hot start to the season, but the 6-foot-3, 270-pound edge rusher still boasts PFF run-defense and pass-rush grades above 90.0 for the year. He’s the total package for any defensive front.
It is no secret that the Titans need edge help. Arden Key has been injured and a complete disappointment in 2025, and rookie Femi Oladejo is on injured reserve with a fractured leg. Complicating this is the decision to trade Dre’Mont Jones for a conditional fifth-round pick at the deadline, removing their leading edge rusher from the roster.Â
Bain is an intriguing prospect who has been near the top of the list of targets for fans and pundits on social media, and he would immediately add an impact player to the defense. With Oladejo still developing, Tennessee could have a chance to deploy two young and physical prospects outside of its stout defensive line.Â
No matter what happens record-wise the rest of the season, Tennessee needs to add competition and solid depth across its roster, and Bain definitely fits that mold.Â
