Houston has a 31-16 lead in the rivalry and is 16-7 at home. The Jaguars won two in a row at NGR Stadium before Houston won 24-20 last year. Since 2017, the last time the Jaguars swept the season series, the Texans are 12-3 vs. Jacksonville. 

What happened the last time the Jaguars played the Texans?  

Travis Etienne scored on a 10-yard run with 1:48 left to lift the Jaguars to a 17-10 victory at EverBank Stadium, breaking a six-game losing streak against the Texans in Jacksonville.

Jaguars CB Greg Newsome vs. Texans WR Nico Collins 

Collins has destroyed the Jaguars’ secondary in his last four games, topping 100 yards each time, with a total of 35 receptions for 478 yards, three touchdowns and a 13.6 per-catch average.  

The difference between his last outing against the Jaguars (eight catches, 104 yards and one touchdown) is that the Jaguars traded Tyson Campbell for Newsome.  

Since arriving in Jacksonville, Newsome has five tackles and two passes defensed and according to Pro Football Focus, is still trying to find his way in the Jags defense: He’s 19th among 107 NFL cornerbacks in passer rating when he’s targeted (119.8), 26th in yards per catch (13.8) and 34th in receptions allowed (34). 

Newsome faced Collins three times in Cleveland. The Browns won all three games, Newsome had nine tackles and three passes defensed and Collins had eight receptions for 85 yards.
