The Tennessee Titans continue to make changes to their roster ahead of their Week 10 bye. The latest move was to release 11-year veteran safety Quandre Diggs.
Diggs was in his second season with the Titans after spending his first nine seasons with the Detroit Lions and the Seattle Seahawks. His release continues the Titans’ dismantling of their secondary. With their claim of safety Jerrick Reed II from the Seahawks this week, this move further demonstrates Chad Brinker and Mike Borgonzi’s commitment to bringing in younger players.
Through his two seasons with the Titans, Diggs appeared in 17 games. He recorded 72 tackles (52 solo) and one pass defense. He follows Jarvis Brownlee Jr. and Roger McCreary as the third member of the Titans’ secondary to depart this season. The Titans also traded linebacker Dre’Mont Jones to the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday ahead of the trade deadline.
The more moves the Titans make, the clearer it has become that they do not intend to win any more games this season. Their focus is on developing the young players they have, retaining key veterans, and gaining draft capital to get this rebuild underway.
