Houston at UCF

Friday, November 7
Kickoff: 6 p.m. (MST)/8 p.m. (EST)
TV: FS1

Insider Predictions

Steve Bartle: Houston
Mitch Harper: Houston

The Space Game for UCF has turnd into a battle of Space Cities with Houston this weekend. The Coogs needd a win after losing to WVU at home last week, so this is a big hinge moment for Houston. I think Houston responds with a win but I don’t feel great about it. – Bartle

Colorado at West Virginia

Saturday, November 8
Kickoff: 10 a.m. (MST)/Noon (EST)
TV: TNT

Insider Predictions

Steve Bartle: West Virginia
Mitch Harper: Colorado

WVU hasn’t had great quarterback play, but it seems Rich Rod has found his QB in Scotty Fox Jr.. Colorado is turning to freshman Julian Lewis at quarterback, which could provide a spark or lead to further offensive echaos for the Buffs. I think the Mountaineers build on last week’s win by running all over the Colorado defense. – Bartle

Kansas at Arizona

Saturday, November 8
Kickoff: 1:30 p.m. (MT)
TV: ESPN2

Insider Predictions

Steve Bartle: Arizona
Mitch Harper: Arizona

Both teams are coming off of confidence-boosting performances last weekend, so this should be a pretty competitive contest. The Arizona defense has been much improved this season, limiting teams to 19.9 points per game. – Bartle

Iowa State at TCU

Saturday, November 8
Kickoff: 1:30 p.m. (MST)/2:30 p.m. (CST)
TV: FOX

Insider Predictions

Steve Bartle: TCU
Mitch Harper: TCU

The Cyclones are experiencing some turbulent air the last few weeks and I think it continues against the TCU Horned Frogs, who have two straight and are coming off a bye week. TCU receiver Eric McAlister has emerged as one of the most reliable and explosive wideouts in the Big 12, consistently stretching the field and creating mismatches. – Bartle

No. 7 BYU at No. 8 Texas Tech

Saturday, November 8
Kickoff: 10 a.m. (MST)/11 a.m. (CST)
TV: ABC

Insider Predictions

Steve Bartle: Texas Tech
Mitch Harper: BYU

This should be a very competitive contest. BYU plays the best “don’t beat yourself” brand of ball, while Texas Tech has simply overwhelmed teams all season. With a juiced crowd and atmosphere, Texas Tech should have a significant home field advantage. Behren Morton could be the single biggest x-factor in this matchup, he’s been good at picking defenses apart when not pressured, and BYU does not generate a lot of pressure. However, they take the ball away at a very high rate. How that phase of the game plays out could be the difference in the game. This will be a competitive game, but Tech wins, and maybe adds a score late to add some cushion. – Bartle
