The 2025 NFL Draft is in the books, and the Seattle Seahawks have a collection of 11 new players.

Rost: Seattle Seahawks’ exciting draft picks have one thing in common

The Seahawks loaded up on athleticism and nine offensive players with their 11 picks over the weekend, their most selections since 2019. The draft started by addressing the interior of the offensive line with North Dakota State guard Grey Zabel at No. 18 overall and continued with intriguing picks like South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori, Miami tight end Elijah Arroyo and Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe in the second and third rounds.

Former NFL quarterback Brock Huard shared thoughts on the Seahawks’ draft class.

“It looks like the hay is in the barn when it comes to the Seahawks’ 2025 draft, and you try to fight a little bit of hyperbole, but I don’t know the last time I’ve been this excited sitting on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in the Pacific Northwest,” Huard said.

The targeting of elite athletes stood out to Huard. Zabel, Emmanwori, Arroyo and Milroe – Seattle’s first four picks – all bring standout athleticism to the table. According to NFL Next Gen Stats, that group had an average athleticism score of 91 – the highest mark for a team’s first four picks since 2003.

“(They got) the biggest, baddest, most physically gifted players they could find in this draft at their positions,” Huard said. “And then this just has kind of a Baltimore Ravens feel to me, a Mike Macdonald imprint that (my Brock and Salk co-host Mike) Salk liked to talk about.”

Huard said that it’s not a huge step away from what the organization has done in the past.

“Just a reinforcement that we want guys that can flat-out run, we want guys that are just flat-out physically gifted,” he said, “and then we will shape and teach and mold – trusting the teaching, trusting the philosophy to bring out these traits and these gifts in remarkable ways.”

The Seahawks ended the draft on Day 3 by picking Notre Dame defensive tackle Rylie Mills, Colorado State wide receiver Tory Horton, Alabama tight end Robbie Ouzts (listed as a fullback by the Seahawks), Kansas guard Bryce Cabeldue, Miami running back Damien Martinez, Iowa guard Mason Richman and UNLV wide receiver Ricky White III.

“The later it went in the draft, you saw production and production and production from Horton and Ricky White and Mason Richman and Cabledue – guys that have played so much football at a pretty dan consistent level.”

Overall, it’s a draft Huard very much approves of.

“It’s a fool’s errand to grade any draft the day of, the day after and not give it time, but my goodness gracious this is one of the best that John and crew have put together,” Huard said.
