Jaire Alexander spoke on why he didn’t play many snaps for the Ravens, and confirmed he’s healthy and ready to play for the Eagles
Tough to know if he can still physically play. He really only played a game and a half for Baltimore. His injury history is evident but tough to know if he can still play or not because he barely got to play in Baltimore https://t.co/P5MzUmcTYu

Baltimore took the field for their final practice on Friday, and it’s as healthy as it’s been since the start of training camp. The Ravens have a revamped and talented secondary that doesn’t include Jaire Alexander. In a move that should benefit both parties, the Eagles acquired the veteran cornerback from the Ravens in a pre-trade deadline deal. The Eagles receive the veteran cornerback and a 2027 seventh-round pick in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick.
Asked about the move in his post-NFL trade deadline press conference, Eagles‘ GM Howie Roseman admitted that he had done research, spoken to Baltimore’s front office, and decided the deal was worth the risk.
It’s a risky move, but the former Packers cornerback should feel comfortable, since it’s a homecoming for Alexander, who was born in Philadelphia before moving to the Charlotte area as a toddler. Alexander attended Rocky River High School in Mint Hill, North Carolina, but talked about his family that remains in Philadelphia following his first Eagles practice. Alexander addressed the media on Thursday and provided some insight into his limited snaps in Baltimore, while confirming he’s healthy and ready to play for Philadelphia.
Alexander has 290 career tackles, 12 for loss, 12 interceptions, 1.5 sacks, 70 passes defensed, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and a touchdown in the regular season.
Alexander signed a one-year deal with the Ravens after the Packers released him in June. Alexander played in two games this season in Baltimore, registering five tackles. However, in the remaining six games, he was either injured or a healthy scratch. He’ll have a familiar face in Philadelphia.
Baltimore will proceed with Nate Wiggins, Marlon Humphrey, Chidobe Awuzie, and T.J. Tampa getting the bulk of the snaps at cornerback.
