The Bills travel to Miami this weekend to take on the Dolphins in the second of the two teams’ division matchups against each other.
In a Nat Geo-level clash between the cold and warm-weather rival clubs, Buffalo will look to make a big splash following last week’s win over the Chiefs.
The Dolphins have been trying to stay above water during a tumultuous season. Meanwhile, the Bills are looking to continue their winning ways in the direction of reclaiming a division lead. Josh Allen has a 14-2 record against the Miami Dolphins in the regular season and playoffs combined. In 16 total matchups
With that, here are three keys to a Bills victory in NFL Week 10…
Air attack
Throw to playmakers.
OC Joe Brady’s well-distributed offense relies on efficiency and keeping defenses on their toes, not knowing who the ball is going to be thrown to. One of the few downsides to that has been a shortage of gameplay reps for developing players like receiver Keon Coleman.
The Dolphins’ secondary is one they can attack, and could light up Coleman to get him some more experience while continuing to look to WR Khalil Shakir and the tight ends group.
While the run game with QB Josh Allen and RB1 James Cook has been the load-bearing part of the offense, they may take the opportunity to get players like Coleman and fellow second-year player, RB2 Ray Davis, some reps.
Keep the foot on the gas
While this is true in all three phases, Buffalo’s defense was not able to stop Miami’s rushing attack when they faced each other in Week 3, and the pass rush was uneventful.
Coming off a game that saw breakout performances by S Cole Bishop and CB Maxwell Hairston in the secondary, and career games by defensive ends Joey Bosa and Greg Rousseau, the Bills’ defensive group will face a similar QB with another contain and coverage effort this week.
Miami right tackle Larry Brown is experiencing a down year and a 55.8 overall grade from  Pro Football Focus (PFF) in 2025. The potential is there for Rousseau to have another strong performance.
Squish the Fish
With two losses on the year against lesser teams, Buffalo needs all the rhythm, momentum, and roster health it can get with matchups against teams like the Bucs, Rams, Eagles, and Steelers ahead on the schedule.
Allen has had particular success against Miami, as the QB has put up 43 total touchdowns and averaged a 109 passer rating and three total touchdowns per game, and Miami head coach and cold-weather enthusiast Mike McDaniel has never beaten Buffalo.
If that success continues, the team might be able to rest some of its dinged-up players, and possibly score enough to hand the ball over to QB2 Mitch Trubisky in the fourth quarter and rest some starters early in a Bills win.
