The NFL draft order hasn’t been a major focus around the Cincinnati Bengals yet this year because of a high-powered offense and the slim hope that Joe Burrow can still make his return.

And yet, sitting on a 3-6 record at the bye, that NFL draft order probably deserves a closer look.

Entering the bye, the Bengals sit with a top-10 pick in the order.

Zac Taylor and the Bengals mostly stood still at the NFL trade deadline and won’t use the bye week to make any changes to the coaching staff, either.

Burrow might return late in the season, but the post-bye outlook certainly seems nice for the draft order standings. They immediately go to Pittsburgh, then play 7-2 New England, then Baltimore twice in three weeks with six-win Buffalo sandwiched in between those games.

If the season does keep falling apart while the Bengals choose to largely remain the same, fans can at least start keeping better track of the best possible defenders in the upcoming draft class.
