Still being short at receiver, the Washington Commanders made an expected roster move on Saturday.

Last week, the Commanders added Treylon Burks to their active roster, and on Saturday, they again elevated receiver Robbie Chosen. The move was expected because last Sunday, vs. the Seahawks, the Commanders lost WR Luke McCaffrey when he broke his collarbone returning a kickoff in the opening quarter. McCaffrey had contributed three touchdown receptions and was second in the NFL in yards per kickoff return.

Chosen (formerly Robbie Anderson, for those confused) was elevated and active in Dallas against the Cowboys. He was targeted four times and made all four catches for 36 yards, as he played 33 offensive snaps. Chosen has played in NFL games for the Jets (2016-19), Panthers (2020-22), Cardinals (2022), Dolphins (2023-24) and now Commanders (2025).

2025 has been a nightmare of a season for receiver Terry McLaurin. McLaurin, who usually compiles 1,000-yard receiving seasons, held out of training camp in a contract dispute. The former Ohio State Buckeye then agreed to a “hold in” to avoid further fines. He had told the local media he wouldn’t get injured, and wouldn’t you know it, this very season McLaurin has been mostly injured and out, appearing in only four games.

Yes, the Commanders have only received 13 receptions from McLaurin, but they’ve gotten much less from another starting receiver from 2024. Noah Brown has only been available for two games and contributed only three receptions.

The Commanders are preparing for Sunday’s home game against the Lions. It was initially scheduled to be a nationally televised game, but with the Commanders only 3-6 and without Jayden Daniels, the game will be seen by far fewer viewers.
