Oregon wide receiver Dakorien Moore will miss Saturday’s game vs. Iowa with injury. His final injury designation comes after conflicting reports were made on Moore’s status heading into Week 11.

Dakorien Moore is QB Dante Moore‘s top target with 28 receptions for 443 yards and three touchdowns. Losing him for such a pivotal matchup is a massive blow for Oregon, and the Ducks will have to turn toward Gary Bryant Jr. and Malik Benson for their receiving production on Saturday.

During Oregon’s most recent matchup — a 21-7 win over Wisconsin — Moore caught three passes for 45 yards to lead the Ducks’ receiving efforts. Before that, he hauled in two receptions for 63 yards and a touchdown against Rutgers.

His best performance of the season was in the overtime win over Penn State, however. In Happy Valley, Moore caught seven passes for 89 yards during the 30-24 win.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET. CBS will carry the national broadcast. Both teams made appearances on the first College Football Playoff rankings, so this matchup will have major implications in the CFP race, not to mention the Big Ten title picture.

This matchup could be looked at as a must-win for the Ducks, who don’t have a win over a team that was ranked in the first College Football Playoff rankings. Their lone ranked win of the season came against a then-ranked No. 3 Penn State team. The Nittany Lions have not won since, and have fired their head coach as a result.

For Iowa, the Hawkeyes have won their last three matchups including blowout wins over Wisconsin and Minnesota — but also a 25-24 win over Penn State at home. With two losses already this season, there isn’t much room for error in Iowa City.

Iowa will take on No. 19 USC next week, so a win over Oregon would only amplify their chances for the CFP. Beating the Trojans in Week 12 would mean the Hawkeyes would have consecutive wins over ranked opponents, which holds major weight a this point in the season.

If one thing is for sure, is that Dakorien Moore will be watching Saturday’s game from the sidelines. As his team looks to win its third-straight game, he’ll hope to get back on the field sooner rather than later in Eugene.
