IOWA CITY, Iowa — There is an optimistic outlook for several injured Oregon players.
Receiver Dakorien Moore missed Oregon’s 18-16 win at Iowa on Saturday at Kinnick Stadium due to a non-contact knee injury suffered during practice this week. Tight end Kenyon Sadiq, right tackle Alex Harkey and inside linebacker Devon Jackson were all listed as questionable and were in full uniform, but also did not play.
Afterword, Oregon coach Dan Lanning said he thinks Moore is “going to be OK.”
Sadiq, Harkey and Jackson will be reassessed, Lanning said, but it was too early to state their availability for Friday’s game against Minnesota.
Sadiq, who has been hampered with an unspecific injury from prior to the Indiana game, warmed up with a member of UO’s training staff but did not take part in pregame drills with the tight ends. Jamari Johnson started and Roger Saleapaga took reps as Oregon’s second tight end.
“Kenyon’s had lingering injuries since the Rutgers game where he makes a big catch in the end zone,” Lanning said. “We wanted to give him the ability to try to recover from that because he’s tried to practice and it hasn’t been what it needed to be.”
Lanning said Harkey rolled his ankle and Jackson was in a similar position.
Harkey went through individual drills in a limited capacity and was clearly limping pregame. Gernorris Wilson started at right tackle.
Jackson did not participate in early pregame warmups and was limited in linebacker drills. Jerry Mixon Jr. started in his place and Dylan Williams was UO’s third inside linebacker.
