Starting a new series here at Steelers Depot, where we will analyze top college quarterback performances weekly, including how their draft stock changes ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.

INDIANA QB FERNANDO MENDOZA — STOCK NEUTRAL

The Indiana Hoosiers held off the Penn State Nittany Lions on the road, winning 27-24 to stay undefeated on the year. QB #15 Fernando Mendoza completed 19-of-30 pass attempts for 218 yards with one touchdown and one interception while also rushing for 20 yards and a score on the ground. Mendoza has been turning the ball over more as of late, but his late game heroics on Indiana’s game-winning drive were exactly what you want to see from a NFL quarterback when it comes to poise and accuracy.

ALABAMA QB TY SIMPSON — STOCK NEUTRAL

The Alabama Crimson Tide handedly beat the LSU Tigers 20-9 and QB #15 Ty Simpson had another strong performance, completing 60 percent of his passes for 277 yards for a touchdown and zero interceptions while still displaying impressive touch and accuracy throwing into coverage and hitting his receivers in-stride.

Alabama is primed for a college football playoff berth and Simpson is the main reason for it.

LSU QB GARRETT NUSSMEIER — STOCK DOWN

LSU QB #18 Garrett Nussmeier wasn’t able to help push his team to compete with Alabama in this one, completing 85.7 percent of his passes, but throwing for just 121 yards (5.8 yards per attempt) with zero touchdowns and zero interceptions while also losing yards on the ground. Nussmeier has struggled to move the needle for LSU’s offense this season, and he’s looking more like a Day 3 pick compared to the first rounder he was projected to be last season.

CLEMSON QB CADE KLUBNIK — STOCK UP

The Clemson Tigers defeated the Florida State Seminoles 24-10 and QB #2 Cade Klubnik had another strong outing as his team competes to get bowl-eligible, completing 74.1 percent of his passes for 221 yards with one touchdown and zero interceptions while also rushing for a score on the ground.

Klubnik did a great job evading the blitz on a flea flicker pass, throwing a beautiful deep ball to WR Antonio Williams for the touchdown, helping raise his draft stock after starting the season in a slump.

OREGON QB DANTE MOORE — STOCK NEUTRAL

The Oregon Ducks snuck out a win in Iowa City against the Iowa Hawkeyes, winning 18-16 in a close one. QB #5 Dante Moore was coming back from an injury suffered against Wisconsin which forced him out of action early, but he didn’t have the best performance, completing 61.9 percent of his passes for 112 yards with zero touchdowns and an interception while rushing for 46 yards on the ground.

For context, Moore was without his top target throughout the matchup and lost more receivers due to injury and had the rainy conditions to deal with, but still managed to lead Oregon into field goal position with some impressive throws late.
