Sunday’s matchup between two of the NFL’s best teams didn’t disappoint.
The 7-2 Patriots and 6-2 Buccaneers went down to the wire at a rainy Raymond James Stadium, but New England emerged with a 28-23 victory when rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson followed a late defensive stop of Tampa Bay on fourth down with a 69-yard touchdown run to ice the game.
Henderson and rookie wide receiver Kyle Williams both played key roles in Sunday’s victory, accounting for 222 total yards and three TDs.
The Patriots now have won seven in a row and have a two-game lead in the AFC East over the Buffalo Bills, who dropped to 6-3 after losing to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
