SANTA CLARA — Boy, that escalated quickly … I mean, that really got out of hand fast.

The NFL trade deadline has passed, and the teams that were bold enough to make big moves reaped the rewards immediately in Week 10.

And those that didn’t, like the 49ers, might be wishing they did.

Here is where San Francisco sits in the latest NFL power rankings heading into “Monday Night Football” after its 42-26 loss to the Los Angeles Rams at Levi’s Stadium:

32. Tennessee Titans (Last week: 32)

Record: 1-8

(Bye week)

31. New York Giants (Last week: 29)

Record: 2-8

Jaxson Dart probably would have won this game had he not gotten injured. Did they padlock the blue medical tent so Brian Daboll couldn’t get in?

30. New Orleans Saints (Last week: 31)

Record: 2-8

Tyler Shough got his first NFL win and honestly has not looked that bad since taking over as the starter. He might just play them out of contention for the No. 1 pick.

29. New York Jets (Last week: 30)

Record: 2-7

Breece Hall and Will McDonald are looking around the Jets’ locker room like Will Smith in “Fresh Price,” wondering where everyone went. And why they didn’t take them with them.

28. Las Vegas Raiders (Last week: 26)

Record: 2-7

Nobody is more hated in Vegas right now than Geno Smith. And that’s saying a lot, since there are many hateable people in Vegas.

27. Cleveland Browns (Last week: 27)

Record: 2-7

Hey, Dillon Gabriel might be kind of frisky. He can add another dimension with his legs that Joe Flacco, Jameis Winston and Thou Who Shall Not Be Named did not. Not that it matters anymore.

26. Washington Commanders (Last week: 24)

Record: 3-7

I know Jayden Daniels isn’t ruled out for the season just yet, but he should be. There is no way in hell he should play another snap for this team this season. Go get a top-five pick. It’s over.

25. Miami Dolphins (Last week: 28)

Record: 3-7

Tua Tagovailoa can’t turn the ball over if De’Von Achane gashes defenses for 220 all-purpose yards. Oh, what’s that? Tua still threw two picks? Classic.

24. Cincinnati Bengals (Last week: 25)

Record: 3-6

(Bye week)

23. Arizona Cardinals (Last week: 21)

Record: 3-6

Live by Jacoby Brissett, die by Jacoby Brissett. One week after playing hero, the veteran quarterback’s two fumbles resulted in two scoop-and-scores that put this game out of reach early. Yuck.

22. Atlanta Falcons (Last week: 23)

Record: 3-6

Good games from Bijan Robinson and Drake London. Seven sacks for one of the NFL’s best defensive lines. There was a lot to like from Atlanta in the loss. Michael Penix was not one of them.

21. Dallas Cowboys (Last week: 22)

Record: 3-5-1

(Bye week)

20. Minnesota Vikings (Last week: 18)

Record: 4-5

There’s a long ways to go before we have the J.J. McCarthy conversation, but the early returns have not been impressive outside of that one electric half in Week 1.

19. Houston Texans (Last week: 19)

Record: 4-5

The offense as a whole just seems to operate better with Davis Mills under center, which is concerning for those still holding C.J. Stroud stock. Similar to Arizona, there’s a conversation to be had. It would be a shame to waste such a good defense …

18. Carolina Panthers (Last week: 17)

Record: 5-5

Opposing teams just need to sell out to stop Rico Dowdle and the run, because Bryce Young isn’t going to beat you.

17. Jacksonville Jaguars (Last week: 15)

Record: 5-4

Just an all-around mediocre team that might sneak into the playoffs, but nobody will care in the slightest. Trevor Lawrence continues to get wrecked behind this offensive line.

16. Baltimore Ravens (Last week: 20)

Record: 4-5

It wasn’t a special offensive performance from Baltimore’s offense by any means, but it’s clear that the Ravens are back. At least to being a playoff team.

15. Pittsburgh Steelers (Last week: 14)

Record: 5-4

If last year wasn’t evidence enough that Father Time has caught up with Aaron Rodgers, then there should be no doubt after tonight. He still has wicked arm talent, but he’s more of a liability than ever.

14. San Francisco 49ers (Last week: 13)

Record: 6-4

Well, this went as expected. Kudos to Mac Jones and the offense for putting up a fight, but the 49ers have a bad defense. In a lot of ways, by no fault of their own. Coaching and scheme only can get you so far. They got absolutely boat raced, but they could benefit from a favorable schedule coming up.

13. Chicago Bears (Last week: 16)

Record: 6-3

Ben Johnson has created his own two-headed running back monster in Chicago with D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai, except on Sunday it was Caleb Williams who got it done with his legs.

12. Kansas City Chiefs (Last week: 9)

Record: 5-4

(Bye week)

11. Green Bay Packers (Last week: 11)

Record: 5-2-1

(Monday Night Football)

10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Last week: 7)

Record: 6-3

Baker Mayfield continued to play like an MVP despite the injuries on offense, but Tampa Bay’s defense was gashed for monster plays of 54, 69 and 72 yards. That side of the ball might end up being a liability in big games.

9. Los Angeles Chargers (Last week: 12)

Record: 7-3

Good, clean, ethical football led to a decisive win against a good opponent. The only concern right now is the offensive line, who struggled to protect Justin Herbert.

8. Buffalo Bills (Last week: 2)

Record: 6-3

Josh Allen struggled. James Cook struggled. The defensive line was bullied all day long. A trap game of all trap games. And they fell for it.

7. Denver Broncos (Last week: 5)

Record: 8-2

A win is a win, but it really hasn’t looked pretty for Bo Nix lately. Denver barely squeaked out a win over the lowly Raiders in Week 10 after barely beating the Giants and Jets. We know the defense is elite, but the team as a whole feels a little sketchy.

6. Seattle Seahawks (Last week: 10)

Record: 7-2

A well-oiled machine would be an understatement for Sam Darnold and Seattle’s offense. With DeMarcus Lawrence’s two defensive touchdowns, they hardly had to break a sweat on Sunday.

5. Los Angeles Rams (Last week: 8)

Record: 7-2

If the season ended today, Matthew Stafford might just be the league MVP. When healthy, he can go toe-to-toe with Father Time almost as well as anyone. I can’t imagine them not securing a top-three seed.

4. Detroit Lions (Last week: 6)

Record: 6-3

Jared Goff: 300-plus yards, three touchdowns. Jahmyr Gibbs: 172 all-purpose yards, three touchdowns. Nice games from David Montgomery and Jameson Williams as well. There is nobody better out of the bye than the Lions, and when firing on all cylinders, there is no better offense than Detroit’s.

3. Indianapolis Colts (Last week: 4)

Record: 8-2

Jonathan Taylor. That’s it. That’s all that needs to be said.

2. Philadelphia Eagles (Last week: 1)

Record: 6-2

(Monday Night Football)

1. New England Patriots (Last week: 3)

Record: 8-2

TreVeyon Henderson has arrived, much to the chagrin of the thousands of fantasy managers who dropped him weeks ago. He’s so much better than Rhamondre Stevenson, and needs to remain the guy moving forward.
