On an afternoon when the passing attack looked discombobulated and drop-prone, Caleb Williams made some magic happen with his legs.
The Chicago Bears quarterback scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 17-yard scramble with 1:47 remaining Sunday at Soldier Field. That came not long after Williams set up the previous Bears score with a 29-yard scramble to the 2-yard line. On the next play, he connected with wide receiver Rome Odunze for a 2-yard touchdown.
Week 10 photos: Chicago Bears vs. New York Giants
The Bears erased a 10-point, fourth-quarter deficit and beat the New York Giants 24-20 on a snowy day at Soldier Field. They improved to 6-3 with their sixth win in seven games.
Williams finished 20 of 36 for 220 yards and one touchdown and ran for 63 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.
Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart had the Giants offense humming and built a 20-10 lead early in the fourth quarter. But it was then that Dart was pulled off the field and evaluated for a concussion.
The Giants ruled Dart out for the remainder of the game. He finished 19 of 29 passing for 242 yards and rushed six times for 66 yards and 2 touchdowns, but the Giants were forced to turn to backup Russell Wilson.
After that, the momentum slowly started going the Bears’ way.
The Bears took possession at their 9-yard line, down by 10 with a little more than six minutes remaining. Williams led the offense on a 91-yard drive, the first of two touchdown drives that would seal the game.
On Williams’s 29-yard run to the 2, he scrambled to his left and saw green grass. He took off running and cut inside for extra yardage rather than run out of bounds. He took a hit on the play but shrugged it off and connected with Odunze for the touchdown moments later.
On the next Giants possession, Bears nickel back C.J. Gardner-Johnson sacked Wilson on third down. An errant punt gave the Bears the ball near midfield with 2:53 to go.
The offense needed just four plays to go 53 yards and take the lead on Williams’ 17-yard touchdown run, and after one first down, Wilson and the Giants turned the ball over on downs.
Here’s how the game unfolded.
Inactives: D’Andre Swift expected to play

Bears running back D’Andre Swift is active and expected to play against the Giants.
Swift missed practice Friday because of a personal reason and was listed as questionable for the game, but his name was not on the list of inactive players Sunday.
The Bears listed quarterback Case Keenum, wide receiver Jahdae Walker, tight end Stephen Carlson, defensive end Dominique Robinson, linebacker T.J. Edwards and cornerback Josh Blackwell as inactive. Keenum is available as the emergency quarterback if both Caleb Williams and Tyson Bagent are ruled out because of injuries.
With Swift active, the Bears will have both him and rookie Kyle Monangai at their disposal. Monangai is coming off a 176-yard effort last week against the Cincinnati Bengals, a game Swift missed because of a groin injury. How the Bears divvy up the touches between Swift and Monangai will be a storyline to watch.
Swift has been dealing with the groin injury for several weeks, but he was a full participant in practice Thursday, a day before his absence due to personal reasons. Tight end Durham Smythe, who was questionable with a calf injury, also is active and expected to play.
The Bears previously ruled out Blackwell (concussion), Edwards (hand/hamstring) and Robinson (ankle). Edwards had surgery on his hand this past week, but the Bears don’t plan to place him on injured reserve. Coach Ben Johnson said Edwards would wear a cast on his hand and should return soon.
As expected, the Giants will be without kicker Graham Gano, cornerback Paulson Adebo and center John Michael Schmitz. Quarterback Jameis Winston is inactive but could play if Jaxson Dart and Russell Wilson are ruled out with injuries. Outside linebacker Victor Dimukeje, defensive lineman Chauncey Golston and guard Evan Neal also are inactive for New York.
Halftime: Late field goal gives Giants a 10-7 lead

In the waning seconds of the first half Sunday, rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart moved the Giants quickly into Bears territory, and kicker Younghoe Koo knocked in a 32-yard field goal to cap an eight-play, 53-yard drive for a 10-7 halftime lead.
The Bears offense went 1-for-6 on third down and 1-for-3 on fourth down in the half. Rookie running back Kyle Monangai scored their only touchdown, barreling into the end zone from 8 yards out with an assist from left tackle Theo Benedet, who gave him an extra shove from behind.
The Bears turned the ball over on downs twice and punted twice. Quarterback Caleb Williams completed 10 of 18 passes for 95 yards, while Rome Odunze had 66 receiving yards on four catches.
To make matters worse, Bears wide receiver DJ Moore exited with an apparent arm injury and is questionable to return.
For the Giants, wide receiver Darius Slayton carried the offense on an 80-yard touchdown drive in the second quarter. Dart connected with Slayton on back-to-back plays for 31 and 38 yards, and Dart scored on a 3-yard run to tie the game at 7-7.
Slayton sustained a hamstring injury, and his return is questionable.
Dart, the 25th pick in this year’s draft, threw for 199 yards on 14-of-21 passing. He also leads the Giants with 21 rushing yards and a score on two carries.

5 things to watch — plus our Week 10 predictions
Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart prepares to play against the 49ers on Nov. 2, 2025, in East Rutherford, N.J. (AP Photo/Seth Wenig)
Jaxson Dart always has wanted to play at Soldier Field. Bears fans stuck in traffic on Lake Shore Drive might laugh at that notion, but the 22-year-old Giants quarterback is dead serious.
A Utah native, Dart began his high school career at Roy High School, the same school from which Bears legend Jim McMahon graduated. Dart spent three years at Roy before transferring ahead of his senior season. McMahon is a legend in Utah, where he played at BYU before the Bears drafted him with the fifth pick in 1982.
“It’s just a traditional organization,” Dart told members of the New York media this week.
On Sunday, he’ll be tasked with trying to beat that Bears organization on what forecasts to be the first truly cold day of the season: a high of 37 degrees with 15-25 mph winds. Read more here.
Bears ‘right in the mix’ for playoffs. Here are 5 reasons for optimism — and 3 for concern.

The Bears are indeed a legitimate contender at this early juncture, and it’s something coach Ben Johnson and his staff are delivering meaningful football in November at Soldier Field at a time of year when, the last couple of seasons, it wasn’t premature to start wondering about coaching security, draft order and free agency.
Sunday’s meeting with the 2-7 Giants is not insignificant. Since the NFL expanded to a 17-game schedule in 2021, teams that began a season 6-3 qualified for the postseason 73% of the time. Teams with a 5-4 record made the playoffs 52% of the time. Read more here.
Meet the new guy

Bears GM Ryan Poles is in his fourth year on the job, and in all four seasons he has made at least one trade near the deadline.
This year it was the addition of defensive end Joe Tryon-Shoyinka in a pick swap with the Browns. It was a relatively low-cost move for a Bears franchise that preferred to keep its high-priority draft picks.
Poles couldn’t forget the game Tryon-Shoyinka had for the Buccaneers against the Bears in Week 3 of 2023, when he sacked quarterback Justin Fields twice and totaled three quarterback hits. Poles believes the Bears can get more out of Tryon-Shoyinka than the Browns, who hardly used him on defense. Read more here.
Ex-Bear Israel Idonije tackles a new challenge: South Loop restaurants

Spend any time in Chicago’s South Loop and you can’t help but notice its charms — from world-class museums and historic buildings to its proximity to lakefront beaches and parks. The one thing missing? A variety of great places to eat, drink and hang out. That’s the opinion of former Bears defensive end Israel Idonije, who has lived in the South Loop since 2014.
For the last two years, Idonije, along with his company Pangea Hospitality Group, has been putting his money where his mouth is with three restaurants — Signature Steak, The Staley and Buttercup — to show for it. Six more hospitality-focused South Loop concepts are in the works, including a hotel, ice cream shop, martini bar, Japanese cocktail lounge and cigar bar. Read more here.

It was a gutty victory for the Bears over the Bengals on the road. Much like the Week 4 blocked field goal against the Raiders, the Bears won the exact type of game this franchise almost always loses.
“These types of games, the Bears, we’re normally not winning these games,” veteran safety Kevin Byard said. Read more here.
