#Raiders OL Jackson Powers‑Johnson suffered an ankle injury that will land him on Injured Reserve and could potentially end his season, sources say.

The postgame news about former Oregon Ducks center and current Las Vegas Raiders right guard Jackson Powers-Johnson wasn’t great after he suffered an ankle injury on Thursday night.
The Raiders lost to the Denver Broncos, 10-7, in front of the nation on Thursday Night Football in Week 10. In that game, Powers-Johnson, the 2023 Rimington Trophy winner (awarded to the most outstanding center in college football) at Oregon, began the night opening up several massive holes for running back Ashton Jeanty.
However, his night ended abruptly in the second quarter as he went down with an ankle injury. The former Duck was helped off the field and carted to the locker room before being ruled out for the game.
Head coach Pete Carroll, speaking postgame, said that he expected Powers-Johnson to be “out awhile.”
Now, after a weekend of evaluating the injury, Powers-Johnson will be put on injured reserve, meaning he’ll be out for Las Vegas’ next four games. But, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the injury may be season-ending.
If it does end up as a season-ending injury, the effects will be felt on the Raiders’ offensive line.
Powers-Johnson was in a competition to win the right guard spot during training camp against free agent signee Alex Cappa. The former Oregon standout earned the starting nod and had been on an upward trajectory as the season progressed, playing arguably the best football of his young NFL career before getting injured.
Without him, Las Vegas, which already faces an uphill battle to make the playoffs with a 2-7 record, will likely turn to Cappa, who started with the Cincinnati Bengals a season ago.
