Garrett Wilson was held without a catch for the first time in his career on Sunday against the Browns and exited the game in the third quarter when he reinjured his knee.

Wilson had been dealing with a hyperextended right knee that forced him to miss two games. He returned Sunday to face the Browns but landed on the knee when trying to make a catch and exited the game.

Jets coach Aaron Glenn said Wilson was undergoing evaluations on Monday and would not say if he can play against the Patriots on Thursday. ESPN reported that Wilson will miss 3-4 weeks and has a knee sprain. Glenn would not say how long he thought Wilson would be out.

“We go through that whole process as far as imaging,” Glenn said. “Get him checked up by the doctors before we really stamp like what the issue is, so again hopefully he’ll be good to be able to play this week, but I don’t want to stamp that just yet.”

Wilson was riding a stationary bike on the sideline after the doctors examined him during the game but Glenn said that does not indicate anything.

“I want to see exactly what the docs say before I stamp anything as far as that, but usually when you have that situation adrenaline is going during the game, but after the game everything kind of slows down and again I want to see what the docs say,” Glenn said.

Rookie CB Azareye’h Thomas has already been ruled out of Thursday’s game with a concussion. Thomas collided with teammate Jamien Sherwood and was down on the field for several minutes in a scary scene.

Jarvis Brownlee Jr. moved outside in Thomas’ place and Malachi Moore slid to nickel corner, where Brownlee usually plays. Isaiah Oliver came in at safety. The Jets will probably have a similar lineup on Thursday.

“When you play with a certain brand, I think it overcomes injuries and adversity and no matter who steps in that spot they know exactly how we play,” Glenn said. “Listen, I make no excuses when it comes to injuries and things like that because I just focus on our brand of play and everybody understands exactly how we do that and expect to go out there and play at a high level.”

WR Adonai Mitchell was inactive Sunday after coming to the Jets from the Colts last Tuesday in the Sauce Gardner trade.

“We wanted to make sure that he was confident just as much as we were confident of not putting him in a position to just go out there and just make a mistake,” Glenn said. “So, I think with another week of learning our playbook, man, he’ll be just fine.”
