The First Academy (Orlando, Florida) will have to wait another year before returning to the Florida high school football playoffs.

Monday, according to USA TODAY’s Jon Santucci, Orange County Judge Margaret H. Schreiber “dissolved” her emergency injunction from last week that would have allowed TFA into the Class 1A Region 2 playoffs. The judge’s ruling to keep the Royals’ two-year ban in effect came after a hearing today.

The ban for the 2024 and 2025 season came after TFA was found guilty of recruiting violations.

TFA played one of the toughest schedules in the nation. The Royals finish with a 5-5 record with three wins over High School Football America 300 teams, including a 35-28 double overtime win over No. 30 Lakeland two weeks ago. They also lost to No. 5 St. Frances Academy (Maryland), No. 36 Central (Phenix City, Alabama), No. 55 Milton (Georgia) and No. 86 St. James Performance Academy (Virginia).
