The Carolina Panthers are set to add a familiar face back to their quarterback room this week.
Head coach Dave Canales wrapped up his team’s disappointing showing in Week 10 by talking with reporters on Monday. He was asked if they’ll continue with just two quarterbacks, Bryce Young and Andy Dalton, on the roster or if they’ll bring back at least one of the two recently-departed passers in Mike White or Hendon Hooker.
“We’ll bring one of those guys back this week,” Canales replied.
White, who served as the emergency third quarterback in the Week 9 win over the Green Bay Packers, was released on Saturday afternoon. His spot would be filled by rookie defensive lineman Jared Harrison-Hunte, a signee from the practice squad.
Hooker, after starting the season as a member of the practice squad, was let go last Tuesday. The Greensboro, N.C. native was a third-round pick of the Detroit Lions from the 2023 NFL draft.
