Falcons head coach won’t make changes to staff following loss to Colts.

The Atlanta Falcons failed to secure a win over the Indianapolis Colts in Berlin, falling to 3-6 on the season. Sunday’s loss was the team’s fourth in a row, and even though the Colts are a formidable opponent, losing streaks are like poison to NFL coaching staffs.

The Falcons have been under fire from fans and analysts around the country for their ineffectiveness on third down and inability to finish games. Head coach Raheem Morris and offensive coordinator Zac Robinson have absorbed the brunt of the criticism, with many calling out the team’s inconsistent offense.

At Monday’s virtual press conference, Morris was asked if he plans to make changes to his coaching staff following the team’s fourth straight loss.

“No,” answered Morris. “We got a really good group here. We’ve got a really good group of guys, and we’ve been in two tough games in back to back weeks versus two really good football teams that we were highly competitive in. There’s a lot of things that we want to get better, particularly third down when it comes to offense moving the ball on third down.”

The Falcons struggled mightily on third down once again in Week 10. After going 1-for-10 on third down in last week’s loss to the Patriots, Atlanta went 0-for-8 on third-down attempts against the Colts on Sunday.

The team does have some favorable matchups coming up, but the Falcons will first have to face the Carolina Panthers. Once the laughing stock of the NFC South, the Panthers are firmly in second place with a 5-5 record. The last time Atlanta faced Carolina in Week 3, the team was shut out in a 30-0 blowout.

After that game, the Falcons fired wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard. If the team fails to turn things around in Week 11, more coaching changes could be coming to Atlanta.
