Dallas Cowboys chief operating officer and co-owner Stephen Jones thinks his team might be on the verge of a run.
He expressed optimism for the back-half of the Cowboys’ season on a Monday radio appearance on 105.3 The Fan (KRLD-FM).
“We certainly are always optimistic about our football team and feel good about the players on our team and feel like we’ve helped our team not only for this year, but for the future with Quinnen Williams,” Jones said. “We just feel like, with our offense playing [how it] has played for most of the year and, if we continue to improve and getting these [defensive] guys back can help us the way we think it can, then we do think we could go on a run.”
Along with trade deadline additions Williams and linebacker Logan Wilson, the defensive guys Jones is referencing are a few players nearing return from injury for Dallas. Among them are linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, rookie cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. and safety Malik Hooker.

“This is all defensive help and it doesn’t take anyone watching our games to understand that’s where we need them,” Jones said.
