PROVO, Utah – The BYU football depth chart for game 10 against the TCU Horned Frogs is out.

BYU enters the clash against an old Mountain West rival looking to bounce back from its first loss of the season. The Cougars are 8-1 overall and 5-1 in Big 12 play.

Like BYU, the Cougars are gearing up to face a TCU squad that is also looking to get back in the win column after suffering a loss to Iowa State last week in Fort Worth.

BYU football depth chart: TCU week notes

The tenth depth chart of the 2025 BYU football season gets everyone ready for a Big 12 home game against TCU.

Justin Kirkland removed

Former Oklahoma State transfer Justin Kirkland hasn’t appeared in BYU’s past two games. Kirkland’s last appearance was against Utah on October 18.

What’s interesting with Kirkland is that he has a redshirt available to him. Kirkland has appeared in only four games this season. If he doesn’t appear in any more regular-season games, this season could count as a redshirt and give him the chance to return in 2026.

Last year, postseason games, such as Conference Championships, bowls, and Playoff games, did not count toward the four-game cap on redshirts.

Kirkland was listed as the backup to John Taumoepeau at defensive tackle. Behind Taumoepeau this week on the depth chart is true freshman Ulavai Fetuli.

True freshman makes his debut on the depth chart

Former Stanford signee, current BYU true freshman Nusi Taumoepeau, is on the depth chart for the first time this season.

Taumoepeau is listed at the SAM linebacker position behind star Isaiah Glasker.

The former Westlake High standout has appeared in four games this season for BYU.

No. 1 at NICKEL

Throughout the season, there has been movement at the NICKEL position for BYU. Barring any injuries moving forward, it would appear the pecking order at NICKEL is now set.

Jonathan Kabeya is the No. 1 nickel with San Diego State transfer Tayvion Beasley behind him as the backup.

The week one starter, Tommy Prassas, is still working his way back from a foot injury.
