CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns are taking the opportunity to give back to those who serve in honor of Veterans Day

The Cleveland Browns and CrossCountry Mortgage gifted Cheryl Greene an all-expenses paid trip to Super Bowl LX in San Francisco

Greene served in the United States Army for 32 years

Browns guard Wyatt Teller and Browns legend Hanford Dixon joined JROTC members at Lincoln-West School of Science & Health to give back to military members overseas

Inside the Lincoln-West School of Science and Health on Monday, members of JROTC were working hard writing cards, making blankets, and packing care-kits for members of the military.

“It’s really important to see my students giving back because that’s what they do,” Cheryl Greene said. “We’re always out in the community. To see them giving back and knowing that everything they do today was for a veteran, they did it with a big heart.”

Greene served 32 years in the United States Army and is the JROTC instructor at Lincoln-West.

“I came in as a private and retired as a national-level command sergeant major,” she said. “From there, I went to every leadership school.”

Greene tells all her students that serving others is the most important thing. The Cleveland Browns and CrossCountry Mortgage took notice, deciding to honor Greene for her work.

Browns Guard Wyatt Teller and legend Hanford Dixon stopped by to help the JROTC members with the surprise. It’s something that means a lot to Teller, whose father was a vet.

“It’s a special moment,” said Teller. “I feel like in a weird way, I’m honoring my dad.”

Teller, who was recently named the 2025 Cleveland Browns nominee for the NFL’s Salute to Service award, surprised Greene with two tickets to Super Bowl LX.

“I’m still shaking,” Greene said after the announcement. “I’m a little bit of a loss for words. I’m very appreciative.”

Besides game tickets, Greene will get an all-expenses paid trip to Super Bowl LX in San Francisco. Teller and Natalie Lonjak with CrossCountry Mortgage said it meant a lot to see the joy on Greene’s face.

“Cheryl, what an amazing woman,” said Teller. “To give 32 years to the U.S. Army and what she’s doing in our community year in and year out, I’m happy for her.”

“We were so proud to give such an amazing experience to somebody who was so deserving,” Lonjak said.

Greene said the Veterans Day surprise is something she’ll never forget.

“Nothing like this happens I’m not going to say to me but I was not ever thinking this,” said Greene. “It’s like going to Disney World.”
