Three biggest takeawaysA champion’s lineup. Win the Super Bowl with a lot of bold-faced name players and you get a schedule with a lot of marquee slots and not much routine. The Eagles, of course, have the Thursday night opener afforded the champion, but they also play on a Friday (Black Friday), Saturday (Week 16 doubleheader), Thursday night again, and have two Monday night games.  The champs will be tested. There are two particularly noteworthy stretches in Philadelphia’s schedule. After opening against the Cowboys, the Eagles take on the reigning AFC champions at Kansas City, host the Rams (who gave the Eagles the toughest playoff test last season), then travel to Tampa before returning home to face the Broncos. That’s four straight games against teams that made the playoffs in 2024. Following their midseason bye, the Eagles are on the road in Green Bay, home on a short week against the Lions, on the road at Dallas, home against the Bears on a short week and on the road at the Chargers. The final sprint. If the Eagles mount a title defense, they’ll be playoff ready — especially their defense — after their closing games. The final three weeks are at the Commanders, at the Bills and home against the Commanders in the finale. NFL Research note
The Eagles are the only team currently scheduled to play on five or more days of the week during the 2025 regular season (Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday). The Chargers are set to play on four different days, with the possibility of a fifth, if their Week 17 game (currently TBD) takes place on Saturday.
