One of my biggest takeaways from last night is, mama, there goes that man, Howie Roseman again, because my goodness, uh, how Howie Roseman gets away with doing any deals in the National Football League is beyond me.
Because we saw Jalen Phillips’ Eagles debut, first game that he’s playing in an Eagles uniform since being traded from the Miami Dolphins right at the trade deadline.
And let me make sure, let me Read this to make sure that I get all of this correct about Jule Phillips’ debut in Philadelphia.
A forced fumble, a fumble recovery, 8 pressures, 7 hurries, 6 tackles, 6 stops, and a near 20% pressure rate.

He also got the game ball last night.
I mean, credit to Jalen Phillips for his instant impact on this defense that was already a championship-level defense.
But also credit to Vic Fangio, the defensive coordinator in Philadelphia, for not being afraid to give Jalen Phillips opportunity in just his first game.
Ramping up, period.
Who?
No, we want you to be part of our defense.
We think we can win you a championship with Jalen Phillips as an addition to this defense, and Vic Fangio didn’t waste any time getting him involved.
Credit to that Philly defense.
That was already championship level and now is even scarier.

But also, this is such a huge reminder when you look at your favorite team and they’re broken.
And everybody wants to turn around and say, oh, a bunch of bums, we suck, blah, blah, blah.
Culture matters, coaching matters, systems matter.
The entirety of the roster matters.
Like Jalen Phillips, just walking into this thing and becoming such a huge part of a defense.
Like, you see those guys that, the way the Eagles were flying around to the football last night was just a reminder of where their strength is.
We are as a society, offensively obsessed and that’s fine.
We can all just admit that.
But it’s also OK to admit that sometimes what we miss because of that is the strength of certain teams.

Like, we want to talk about the drama of the Eagles and what’s going on with AJ and whether or not the passing game’s right, blah, blah, blah, blah.
When I watched last night, like Quinyon Mitchell is just, he’s Velcro.
I, I don’t know how you get open against Quinon Mitchell.
You see Cooper Dejean right there.
The way that he just explodes to where the ball is gonna be is incredible to watch.
You just, you saw an Eagles defense that was.
Faster than everybody last night.
It was explosive.
And the Packers’ defense came to play too.
I want, I want to give the Packers’ defense credit in this, but I just kept watching the Eagles say, I was laughing watching the game thinking, this is a team we’re talking about being broken because all we care about is the wrong side of the football.

The Eagles showed us last year that the reason they were gonna win the Super Bowl one way or the other was because their defense was just more than the Chiefs could handle.
Last night, the Eagles were more than anybody could handle.
