The Tennessee Titans have released former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Lance McCutcheon from their practice squad, according to Aaron Wilson of Houston’s KPRC2.
McCutcheon, 26, spent the past two seasons in Pittsburgh after joining the team’s practice squad on Oct. 14, 2024. He then signed a reserve/future contract for the 2025 season.
He made several plays throughout the preseason, appearing in all three games and making five catches for 66 yards. His best performance came in the preseason finale, when was targeted four times, catching three passes for 52 yards, including a 24-yard touchdown from Skylar Thompson in the second quarter that was the only time the Steelers found the end zone all night.

However, he was still on the outside looking in when cuts came around. McCutcheon was re-signed to the practice squad but was released once again on Sep. 8. He was then signed to the Titans practice squad Oct. 23 and has been there since.
McCutcheon joined the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent out of the 2022 NFL Draft. He saw 10 games active but didn’t register an offensive statistic. He played most special teams and recorded two tackles.
He was waived by the Rams coming out of training camp in 2023 and spent the first half of the 2023 season on the Houston Texans’ practice squad, and the second half on the New York Jets practice squad.Â
McCutcheon then re-signed with the Jets for 2024 but was released in August and was out of the league until catching on with the Steelers.
A 6-foot-3, 202-pound native of Bozeman, Montana, McCutcheon played college football at Montana State, where he racked up 91 catches for 1,613 yards and 12 touchdowns from 2018-21.
