The Indianapolis Colts reportedly worked out six defensive linemen on Tuesday.

According to Aaron Wilson, defensive ends Myles Cole, Viliami Fehoko, and Shaq Lawson, along with defensive tackles Christopher Hinton, Maurice Hurst, and Chris Wormley, were all brought in for a workout.

These visits come while the Colts are navigating injuries at both the defensive end and defensive tackle position groups.

Tyquan Lewis (groin) and Samson Ebukam (knee) have each missed the last three games after sustaining injuries in Week 7 against the LA Chargers.

Durell Nchami, who has been elevated from the practice squad in each of the last three games, is out of elevations. If the Colts need added defensive end depth moving forward, they’ll either have to sign Nchami to the active roster or elevate another practice squad player.

With the bye week here, Lewis and Ebukam will have some additional time to heal.

At the defensive tackle spot, DeForest Buckner was placed on injured reserve prior to the Atlanta game. At a minimum, he has to miss at least three more games before being eligible to return.

Without Buckner this past Sunday, the Colts relied primarily on three defensive tackles with Grover Stewart, Adetomiwa Adebawore, and Neville Gallimore, shouldering the workload at this position.

With this being a more heavily rotated position, around the NFL it’s not uncommon for teams to rely on four or even five defensive tackles over the course of a game.

At this time, no signing has been reported, and one may or may not be coming. It is common practice for teams to work out players on a weekly basis.

If an addition is made, the practice squad is the most likely landing spot for one of these players.
