Throughout the course of the 2025 NFL season, the Green Bay Packers have once again had kicking issues.

Brandon McManus has not been great, but has also been dealing with injury issues. When he was forced to miss time, the Packers turned to 26-year-old kicker Lucas Havrisik. He connected on all four of his field goal attempts and all six of his extra points, but has not been active since those two games were played.

While it’s possible that Green Bay could continue forward with those two kickers on the roster, there is an incredibly interesting option who could be available.

According to a report from NFL insider Tom Pelissero, former Baltimore Ravens star kicker Justin Tucker’s 10-game suspension has officially been lifted. He is eligible to sign with any team.

“Seven-time Pro Bowl kicker Justin Tucker’s 10-game suspension officially was lifted by the commissioner today,” Pelissero wrote in a post on X. “Released by the Ravens in May, Tucker remains eligible to sign with any team.”

Tucker struggled during the 2024 season with the Ravens, connecting on 22 of his 30 field goal attempts. However, before that season, he had been one of the best in the NFL.

Should the Packers decide to take a big swing on a kicker with an even bigger leg, Tucker could be an option.

Of course, there are many more issues that need to be fixed other than the kicker situation. Green Bay has started to struggle over the last five or six games. Right now, there are real concerns about the Packers and their playoff hopes following a rough loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10.

Currently, the team holds a 5-3-1 record. That has them in seventh place in the NFC playoff standings.

Matt LaFleur has started to feel his seat get hotter. Brian Gutekunst knows that he needs to turn Green Bay back into a Super Bowl contender very soon or else his job status will be in jeopardy.

Even though Tucker would not be a one-move fix for the entire problem the Packers are facing, he could help. Having a reliable kicker who can kick from long range on a consistent basis would have to be of interest for Green Bay. Or, perhaps the Packers are comfortable and wouldn’t consider a Tucker.

That being said, it’s a potential move worth looking into for Green Bay.
