Jaguars coach Liam Coen on Travis Hunter’s season-ending knee surgery
Jaguars coach Liam Coen talks about Travis Hunter’s season-ending knee surgery and the impact to the team.
The Jacksonville Jaguars dealt with a slew of injuries last week, and they’re looking to get healthier as they head into their Week 11 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers at home.
Jacksonville receiver Brian Thomas Jr., starting left guard Ezra Cleveland, tight end Hunter Long and cornerback Jourdan Lewis were all ruled out ahead of their trip to face the Houston Texans.
This week, the team could get a couple of them back up to speed while they deal with more injuries at other positions.
The team’s biggest question mark this week is right tackle Anton Harrison, who left the game early last week due to a knee injury. Harrison was not seen during the media availability portion of practice on Wednesday.
Also not seen on the practice field included receiver Parker Washington, Long and Lewis.
Washington’s injury was previously unknown. He finished last week’s game with three catches for 33 yards and a touchdown. Washington also had a punt return for a touchdown during the contest, the second one he’s had this year.
Two players sported orange, non-contact jerseys at practice — linebacker Dennis Gardeck (chest) and cornerback Greg Newsome II. Newsome was not on the team’s injury report last week and started and finished the game against the Texans. His ailment wasn’t disclosed until after the injury report went out, late Wednesday afternoon.
