The Washington Commanders finally got a good piece of news on Wednesday when they opened the 21-day window for safety Will Harris to return from injured reserve.
Harris is in his seventh season in the NFL, his first with the Commanders. Alongside Marshon Lattimore and Jonathan Jones, Harris was brought in to help mold the Commanders’ young secondary. He played well early this year, and when he went down with a leg injury, the secondary struggled. The communication among players on the field was problematic without his veteran experience, especially after Jones went down the following week.
Through his three games with the Commanders, Harris recorded 11 tackles (seven solo), one forced fumble, and one pass defensed.
He’s obviously not available in Madrid this week, but getting Harris back on the field will be a huge boost for the Commanders’ struggling defense.
