Taylor’s fit vision was months in the making, centered on this Valentino jacket. His stylist and brand manager, DexRob, brought him the $5,000 blazer in August to wear for a birthday dinner, but it wasn’t the right vibe. A second try with a different shirt, closed jacket, shorts and white and black loafers felt too extra for the duo. Then they decided to cut multiple buttons off the jacket, adding a more casual Uniqlo white tee, Celine jeans and Marni shoes. It was a hell of a hit.

“Sometimes you don’t have to be the loudest in the room. Just let the one piece be the Beyonce,” DexRob told me. “Understand what scale looks like. Don’t let clothes wear you.”

All six of our participating panelists this week voted Taylor’s fit in the top five — that’s the first time that’s happened ever in our rankings. It’s notable that Taylor — the New York Jets backup QB, who also garnered two first-place nominations from our voters, and also placed first back in Week 2 — can separate himself in this department despite not hitting the field or TV cameras on most weeks.
