The San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday produced what has become a novelty for them.
For the first time perhaps all season, the 49ers had fewer players on their practice participation report than their opponent.
San Francisco had seven players on the report with six either limited or not participating. The Arizona Cardinals, who host the 49ers on Sunday for a 1:05pm Pacific Time kickoff, had 16 players on their report.
The best news for the 49ers is that Wednesday didn’t feature any news. Head coach Kyle Shanahan before Wednesday’s practice gave an estimated report. That was the exact report the team officially released which meant there were no new injuries or unexpected setbacks.
If the 49ers are going to stay afloat the rest of the way and make a run at a playoff spot, they’ll need to get and stay healthy.
