Whether you’re fan of either team or not, Sunday’s game pitting the Rams versus the Seahawks should be thrilling display of elite offensive playmaking

As the ongoing battle for NFC West supremacy continues, the Rams will go head-to-head with arguably their toughest challenge yet, the high-flying 7-2 Seattle Seahawks— one of the best passing offenses in the entire league, piloted by Sam Darnold and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. And to pile on to the already overwhelming firepower at hand, the Seahawks traded for receiver Rashid Shaheed before the trade deadline, boosting the speed of their offense to blistering levels.

In a league full of so many talented receivers, Jaxon Smith-Njigba has separated himself from the rest of the pack thanks to one of the best statistical years by a receiver in recent memory. Currently, Jaxon leads the league in total receiving yards (1,041) and is 5th in total receptions (63). And this is partly due to Sam Darnold’s outstanding quarterback play while at the helm of this dynamic offense. The team’s defense is also fairly solid to boot—currently ranked 19th for passing yards allowed, which isn’t too daunting, but is ranked 3rd for rushing yards prevented, allowing an average of just 90.2 rushing yards by the opposing team.

The Rams’ passing game should have no issues resuming their remarkably commanding reign, and we expect Stafford to continue his legendary offensive clinic. The ground game is where issues may arise, but we’ve seen Kyren Williams and Blake Corum overcome tough run-heavy defenses in the past. Frankly, their success will be largely dependent if Stafford’s passing game forces Seattle to spread their secondary down the field. Otherwise, all they’ll need to do is stack the box down the middle to restrict Kyren and Blake from making any sort of impact.

Seattle’s injury report is pretty substantial, with DT Johnathan Hankins (back), DT Rylie Mills (knee), S Julian Love (hamstring), TE Eric Saubert (calf), G Christian Haynes (pectoral), WR Dareke Young (quadriceps), DT Jarran Reed (thumb), and C Jalen Sundell (undisclosed) all on injury reserve. WR Tory Horton (groin/shin), LB Ernest Jones IV (knee), CB Josh Jobe (concussion), and G Grey Zabel (heel) all listed as questionable.

For the Rams, we have WR Tutu Atwell (hamstring) still on injury reserve, with WR Jordan Whittington (back), DE Kobie Turner (back), and WR Davante Adams (oblique) listed as questionable, though coach McVay is confident Adams will still play on Sunday.

As the quest for the NFC throne heats up, we’ll be treated to what should be an all-out shootout between two of the best passing teams in the league. The Rams will welcome the Seattle Seahawks to SoFi Stadium this Sunday at the matinée time showing slate.
