No Indianapolis Colts fan is enjoying Adonai Mitchell’s debut with the New York Jets … but it’s unlikely any one is surprised either.

Mitchell was targeted six times with one catch for 10 yards in the Jets’ 27-14 loss to the New England Patriots.

That’s not great … but it’s worse.

The former second-round pick by the Colts has dropped three passes. Granted, quarterback Justin Fields could help Mitchell out with better throws but some of these drops are ugly.

The Colts included Mitchell — with two first-round draft picks — in the deal to the Jets to add Sauce Gardner last week.

Mitchell had caught just 32 of his 71 targets, 45.1%, entering Thursday’s game. Only Marquez Valdes-Scandling is lower at 44.2% among players with at least 50 targets the last two seasons; the third-worst rate is 49.1%.

Mitchell was benched by the Colts after dropping the ball on the way into the end zone, turning what would have been a spectacular 76-yard touchdown into perhaps the worst 75-yard reception in NFL history and getting called for a holding penalty that negated a touchdown against the Rams.

Here’s the social media reaction:

TRENDING: New #Jets wide receiver AD Mitchell is having a historically BAD game tonight.

Mitchell already has three drops in just his first game in New York…
