PHILADELPHIA, PA. – The Eagles shift their focus to a Detroit Lions offense that is averaging over 31 points per game, second-best in the league. The Birds are coming off a 10-7 win over the Green Bay Packers on Monday night.

Vic Fangio said that their defense is not rocket science, the better players you have out there, the more it benefits everyone.

“When you get disruptive players, other players get in, fall in the plays, you know, like on the sack that Jalyx got. I mean, Jaelan really made the play, applied the pressure and flushed the quarterback. Jalyx finished it, you know, so the more players you have that can do that, the better off.” Said Fangio.

“I love it here, man. It’s been great. Obviously, what a way to come out on Monday. Super cool environment. It was awesome to play with the team. I already feel so close to the guys. I feel like I’ve been here for a while already. So that’s, you know, credit to them for coming here with open arms.” Said the newest Eagle, Jaelan Phillips.

Jordan Mailata stated, “Another, it’s going to be another battle this week between the two Lions offense and defense. I think for both sides of the ball, both teams. And so, Aidan Hutchinson, great rusher, has proven himself in this league. Excited for that matchup. You know, it’s good on good and a test to see where my skills are at.”

Saquon Barkley explained, “Happy to be back in the Linc. I think it’s going to be a great environment. I don’t think, I know it’s going to be a great environment. So, we’re going to go out there and give our fans something to be proud about. I know it’s going to be a tough opponent. It’s going to be a physical game. We know what they’re all about. I think they have great players, a great coach, great coaches. They’re one of the best teams in the NFL. I think they’re one of the best teams in the NFL. So, it’s going to be a fun matchup. And as a competitor, we always look forward to that.”

Head coach Nick Sirianni says even with a short week, the Eagles were able to use their bye to get a head start on Detroit and that all the new defensive pieces are gelling at the right time.

Kickoff is Sunday at the Linc at 8:20.
